The center grille is evidently made of metal. It started to rust within a couple of weeks on my sailboat. Granted it is in a Marine environment and the functioning parts of the speaker is waterproof, You would not expect them to use metal on the exterior. I emailed Pyle and they told me remove the rust and paint it. Duh!
